My power is back on and my internet connection is up as well. I love lightning storms (especially when they hover over my house).

Norton Ghost is a bit buggy, but it just saved me a bunch of heart ache. I am hoping that after I get my mac Time Machine will be a bit better.

Napa/San Francisco Trip Day 4

Today was a partial work day for me. We woke up early and headed to San Francisco for my wifes conference. We stayed at the W, which is a bit trendy for my taste.

Lane went to her conference and I worked for several hours. When she got back we went down to pier 39 to see the seals and all the strange people. We then went back to the hotel and tried out the spa. It is small and way too hip for its own good.

We had dinner at Maya and then walked around downtown for a bit.

Napa/San Francisco Trip Day 3

This day promised to be a bit more relaxed. We started the morning w/Dick driving us to Stags Leap Winery where we had a tour and tasting. The wine was really good and the tour was interesting. We drove by Coppola's place afterwards, but didn't have enough time to spend there to justify the price.

We had lunch at The Auberge Du Soleil. The view and the lunch were fabulous. We really want to stay here the next time we come to Napa.

Dick took us back to the hotel where we took a nap, visited the spa and then prepared for our dinner at the Bouchon Restaurant.

Napa/San Francisco Trip Day 2

I knew I was in for a long day with 3 planned wine tastings. Prior to leaving the hotel we went to the pool area and got in the hot tub and had a swim.

We started at 10:30 AM at the Frazier Winery. We really enjoyed the time that we spent with Adam and signed up for his wine club.

Next Dick (our driver) took us to a small roadside deli where we bought some sandwiches and headed over for a tasting at Neyers Vineyards. We tried a few wines and bought a 1/2 case.

Our last tasting was at the Kuleto Estate. We really enjoyed the house and the wines, but we didn't like the sales pitch so we didn't end up buying any wine.

We had reservations for The French Laundry we had a great meal, but it is way too much food. I mean who can eat 9+ courses. Also, we were a bit wined out after our tastings. We made it through in a bit over 3 hours.

Napa/San Francisco Trip Day 1

I started the day early flying to Oakland. We had a layover in Phoenix. I knew that I was somewhere different when they gave me a crazed look when I asked for iced tea.

After picking up a car in Oakland we drove to the villagio and checked in and relaxed before heading out to dinner at Bistro Jeanty for dinner.
