Sonoma Trip
I just got back from California last night. We had a great time, but after a week food and wine I am glad to be back.
Photos/Videos
We stayed at the Fairmont Mission Inn and loved it.
On Sunday we had brunch at The Girl and The Fig and explored the square in downtown Sonoma. After that we headed back to the spa. That evening we went to the Glen Ellen Inn and had a great dinner.
The next day we went ate at the Big 3 and then went hiking. More spa time... We went to Del Santina for dinner and had good food and a great bottle of wine.
We spent some more time in the main square on Tuesday and also ran to the spa. We went to a small restaurant called Café Lahaye and had a wonderful meal.
Wednesday was a big wine tasting day. We started at Sojourn went to Loxton Wines and finished up at Audelssa. After a brief time back at the hotel we went to Auberge de Soleil where the view and the food are always wonderful.
Thursday was Lane's day as we went for a horseback ride at Larson Winery. We had a great time meeting Rafael and learning about polo. More spa time... I was a bit sore and sunburned, but I manged to make it to La Sallette for dinner.
For our last full day in Sonoma we visited Hunter Winery and Hanzell. Both venues were awesome to see. More spa time... Our final meal was at Estate.
Luckily we had an uneventful flight back to the ville.

Rolex
My wife and her little sister have been in Lexington for the last 3 days for the Rolex. I drove to Lexington yesterday afternoon and went to Gratz park where we stayed for the evening. We ate dinner at a la lucie and had a great meal. After that we had went to a local bar for a bit and then called it an evening.
In the morning we had brunch at doodles and I drove back to the ville.
I am looking forward to Lane coming home tonight and getting in some pool time. I just checked the pool temp and it is already at 85 degrees. I got in yesterday when it was 80 degrees, but 86 or 87 will be much better. This is the first time we have been able to get in in April (crazy weather).

Whistler BC Trip 02.07-02.14.09
Lane and I just arrived back from our trip to Whistler. We had a great 7 days there.
The first night when we arrived, we were tired after our plane trip +2 hour drive to the Fairmont and just had drinks and appetizers at the bar.
The next day we did some shopping and scoped out the town. We had breakfast/brunch at Dubh Linn Gate, which was great. We went to the hot tub and pool then had a very nice dinner at Umberto.
On Monday, we purchased our lift tickets and got on the hill after having lunch at Beet Root. The trails at Whistler are so long, we were exhausted after about 4 hours. We headed to the pool and hot tub (as we did every day). That night we wanted a more low key dinner at Caramba.
We were really sore the next morning, but we hit the slopes again anyway. We ate lunch at the top of Whistler at Christine's. It was cozy with a beautiful view. The couple next to us was doing shots....wow! We traversed the mountain for a few hours and retreated once again to the hot tub and pool. We had dinner at Bavaria a fondue and schnitzel house. They even put bacon in the sauerkraut. We tried to watch a movie and almost made it to the end.
Wednesday we hit the slopes via the peak to peak gondola and had lunch while skiing Whistler at Chic Peas cabin. Good greek salads and soup. We did the mountain a few times and headed down to apres cocktails and more r and r. An all irish dinner was had at the Dublin so Eric could have a black and tan. Shots of sambuco finished the night. We watched the new James Bond movie almost to the end!
Thursday we took a break from the mountain and went dog sledding/mushing. An interesting experience to say the least. We had brunch at the Creperie and an awesome dinner at Rim Rock Cafe. We loved the oyster's Rasputin and sticky toffee pudding.
On our last full day in Whistler, we decided to try cross country skiing at the 2010 Olympic site. We had a quick meal of chili using all compostable/recyclable containers/implements. The spoons lacked a lot to be desired as they have a tendency to splinter. That evening we went on a sleigh ride and ate a fondue at the Chalet.
